Phu Quoc

Pronounced as ‘Fu Cok’, the Island of Phu Quoc lies to the South of Vietnam, an approximate distance from Cambodia. Phu Quoc presents different experiences for tourists, although maintaining a semblance with Cambodia and Thailand because of its island’s location. More than half of Phu Quoc is a national park, and this distinct feature makes it the perfect home to the Phu Quoc dog, the country’s domestic ridgeback dogs with a rare ability to swim and climb. Indeed, these dogs are found around beaches on the island. Phu Quoc is renowned for fish sauce and beaches too. The world-class beaches at Phu Quoc can switch from the West to the East, depending on the season.

The launching of an international airport is a welcome development, considering that it is less than 10 minutes away from the best hotels. The Long Beach, a fascinating touristic destination in the South West, is a chain of modern resorts – you don’t want to miss it. Apart from boat trips and jungle walks in Phu Quoc, diving around the islands is mostly the crowd’s favorite. If you aren’t big on swimming, you can rent a motorbike for a swell time around the city.
